The Inwood Literary Review
The Inwood Literary Review is designed to showcase and celebrate the work of writers and artists living in upper Manhattan, a neighborhood rich in arts and literature. Hundreds of writers and artists live and work in Inwood and Washington Heights and they make exciting and innovative contributions to New York City's thriving arts scene.

We accept non-fiction, fiction, poetry, and drama. Artwork may include graphics, painting, sculpture, photography and mixed media.

Guidelines:

The Inwood Literary Review welcomes submissions of narrative non-fiction/memoir, fiction, poetry, drama, and artwork. Simultaneous submissions and previously published are welcome as long as you make us aware of this.

Please direct submissions to the appropriate department. Only one submission per category is acceptable with the exception of poetry and artwork. Please send only polished final drafts. Please note that we do not post submissions - we publish them.

Fiction: limit of one - four thousand words or less
Poetry: limit of three poems (no more than 60 lines each)
Narrative non-fiction/memoir: limit of one - three thousand words or less
Drama: limit of one - one act play
Artwork: limit of three per issue

We only accept email submissions at this time.

Writing submitted for publication must be double-spaced and have your name, address, phone number, and email address on the front page.

Please note that we do not accept submissions of writing or art that includes science fiction, horror, vampire, romance, or erotica.

Please send a four or five line bio with your submission.

Contributions to the Inwood Literary Review must follow the following terms and conditions:

The Inwood Literary Review has the right to edit your writing for both space and content. If more than minor editing is involved, your writing may be returned to you for changes.

Artwork will not be edited.

Ownership rights associated with each contribution remain with the contributor.

The contributor certifies that the contribution is an original work and that he/she is the sold proprietor of that work. The contributor further certifies that the work is not a violation of an existing copyright or other property right and contains nothing libelous or otherwise unlawful.
