Yoga Classes for seniors
Karolee Bennett, a yoga instructor with over 35 years of experience will be teaching Hatha and Istha yoga with an emphasis on therapeutic postures, every Monday from 3-4pm. Volunteers Wanted for Doula Training (for the Elderly)
This summer, Isabella will offer an opportunity to train for this special position.

What a Doula does:

-provides friendship
-assists with everyday practical needs
-speaks up for a person who has trouble talking
-offers emotional, social and spiritual support
-enhances a person's comfort and dignity
-serves as a caring companion

To be a Doula candidate, you must:

1. Complete a Doula Training Program -8 sessions, 2 hours each (provided at Isabella in the early evening)
2. Be willing to provide ongoing support to one individual
3. Have a desire to work in end-of-life care.
4. Complete the Isabella Volunteer Orientation.

Inwood Greenmarket
The Greenmarket has been approved for Inwood. The market will be located Saturday mornings and afternoons on Isham St. between Seaman Ave and Cooper St. It will open in early July and run until Thanksgiving. Initially the site will host eight to 10 farmers.

Hot Nights, Cool Sounds
I'm in the midst of helping to coordinate a free concert series in Bennett Park (Fort Washington and 185th St), called Hot Nights, Cool Sounds.
Artists Unite is producing and organizing it.

The first concert will be during the Uptown Artist Stroll on June 12th. Salrumba with Carlos Ponce will be performing.
July 13th: The Howlin' Thurstons (instro rock) and Yewande (R&B sensation) 7-9 pm
July 20th: No Cover (jazz) and Annette Aguiler & Stringbeans (Brazilian percussion) 7-9 pm
July 27th: Karen Hudson River Band (country rock) and Dixie Bee-Liners (Bluegrass) 7-9 pm
