Children ages 7 to 14 are invited to audition.

Jazz Concert - Jamie Fox, Guitar Edit

Jamie FoxThe Walter and Edith Oppenheim Annual Concert Series presents

JAMIE FOX, GUITAR

For this concert, Jamie Fox is debuting a new band performing an entirely new repertoire of tunes with an electric sound and irresistible grooves. The group features Dan Stein on keyboards, Stephan Crump on bass, and Scott Neumann on drums.

Jamie Fox, guitarist and composer, has played with Blood Sweat & Tears, Dr. John, Joan Baez, The Shirelles, Jen Chapin and Brother Jack McDuff. Jamie's music is highly original and wide-ranging, with tuneful melodies and compelling rhythms, fusing a broad array of sounds and moods into an exciting and unique voice.

The other band members have performed and recorded with Joshua Redman, David Liebman, Greg Osby, Madeleine Peyroux, Billy Hart, Frank Foster, Eddie Henderson, Kenny Werner, Eddie Gomez, Ernie Watts, Bobby Previte, Vijay Iyer, The Jazz Mandolin Project, Maria Schneider Orchestra, and the Vangard Jazz Orchestra.

Admission is FREE. Refreshments follow the performance.

This event is being held in conjunction with an Artists Unite Visual Arts Exhibit.

Location: YM/YWHA of Washington Heights and Inwood, 54 Nagle Avenue (between Broadway and Ellwood Street).
